Tempting the Player by J. Lynn

Summary:
Chad Gamble, all-star pitcher for the Nationals, is one of the best players on—and off—the field. And right now, the notorious bad boy wants Bridget Rodgers. But with her lush curves and snappy comebacks, the feisty redhead is the kind of woman a man wants to settle down with…and that’s the last thing Chad needs.

When the paparazzi catch them in a compromising position, Chad’s manager issues an ultimatum: clean up his act or kiss his multi-million dollar contract goodbye. To save his career, his meddling publicist says he'll have to convince everyone Bridget isn’t just his flavor of the week, but his girlfriend.

Being blackmailed into a fake relationship with Chad Gamble isn’t easy, especially when the sizzling physical attraction between them is undeniable. With a month to go on their arranged pretense, it's going to take every ounce of willpower they have not to fall into bed together...or in love. (Summary by Goodreads.com)

My Thoughts:
Tempting the Player is the best book in the series so far!

Chad reminds me a lot of his brother Chase from the first book. Too good looking for his own good and too much time to play around. Which is probably why we first meet him  at a bar that is invite only. :)

Bridget has not idea what she is walking into when she meets Chad at the bar. She is sweet with sass and curves. Just the type of women Chad is looking for.

Chad has the bad boy reputation, but in reality he is nothing like his reputation. Sure he hangs out with beautiful women and doesn't always make the best of choices, but he was surprisingly sweet and did not seem like a player once we got to know him. Pleasantly surprised! That doesn't mean there aren't some steamy moments between him and Bridget though, because there are. A lot of them!

Bridget is a beautiful person inside and out. She is not model thin, but is very comfortable in her body. I was so happy she didn't spend the book hung up on her looks. It was a nice break from most characters with curves that spend the whole book complaining about their bodies.

Ms. Gore is by far my new favorite literary character. She knows what she has to do and isn't afraid to use any method to achieve what needs to be done. Blackmailing Bridget was one of the funniest things I have read. Loved every minute that she was involved!

Both Chad and Bridget have demons from their pasts that have to be overcome, but they don't let that stop them from heating up the pages. There is no insta-love, but true working towards a relationship that speaks for itself.

I was so happy to read this book. I loved it! One of the best adult series I have read because instead of just focusing on steamy scenes, there is an actual plot.

My Rating: 5 Stars!
